Snow Shoe Adventure! Dec. 30,2011

1 Jan

This is what we did last year for New Years Eve Day…it was totally a fun day….

The Inlow’s and the Johnson’s rang in the new year with us…

Greg decided to carry the camera bag after this spill..hahaha

That was a great day..looking forward to doing this again.

Quad ride with the Walton’s~ Sept.2011

14 Jun

We wanted to see the trees that had changed color for the Fall…so we went on a quad ride with Bob and Nancy…

Pretty wildflowers

“honey, can you just go out and get that rock for our yard?”

The views were sooo pretty that day,and here are the color changes! Love this.

This was a beautiful area.

Bob made it easy for us to see him!

Nancy and I had a fun time reading these signs…[ just noticed that the word ‘can’t was not in my shot…]

So pretty

YIKES! Look at how dirty my face is and I was sitting behind Greg! Maybe I should have taken a picture of him…

Fun day just searching out new sites…looking forward to more.

GOING ON A ROCK HUNT…..

9 May

This has become a safe adventure for us…there is no climbing involved… and I only pick up the smaller ones.:}

The search begins….

For several days we went out and hunted for rocks..

I wish we could have managed to grab these…just a tad too big

It was just a little windy …can you tell??

Unloading another batch of our finds….by the way, our property line goes to our neighbors left side fence corner.

Such a hard worker!!! Thanks honey.

Getting some MUCH appreciated help with the rocks from Bob!! Whew..thanks so much.

The beginning of the stone retaining wall…

To the left of the clay pot will be stairs going down to the yard.. Plants will be in the small section you see at the far left.

So far so good. All of the rocks stayed in place through all of the weather. Now we need to get more for the front landscape..this is all still a work in progress.

Too Much??

22 Jun

Well, almost all of this is out of my sister’s basement…

She and I unpacked ALL of these boxes and then separated items to keep and items to put aside for the ‘estate’ sale.We sure got plenty of exercise on these days, going up and down the basement stairs, hauling things to my car. This was much easier than trying to carry the heavy boxes upstairs. The remaining heavy things, like furniture pieces, will have to wait until Greg can be here to  carry them upstairs. He was still in CA working while we were doing this….A few weeks after we did this, a pipe burst in the basement and was causing a huge spray of water right in the direction of where the majority of my boxes had been! I was in CA at the time and R & R were not home ! YIKES…A plumber was called and the damaged pipe was fixed! No further damage in the basement, thankfully…just a bit of clean up. Note to self, BE SURE TO SHUT OFF THE WATER WHEN GOING AWAY FOR AWHILE…especially during the winter.. This is one of the new things I have had to learn for my own house…Here is a sample of some of the things I have unpacked…and unpacked and unpacked…

Soo , did you see anything you might be interested in???

Greg is re-organizing his garages. He will be oh so happy when the ‘estate’ items are gone!

Now to tackle the daunting job of  building shelves in the sewing closet. Thank goodness Greg can do the hard part…. Then I will organize it .

‘Whalah’  All organized and ready for sewing more Christmas stockings together, or mending or just any new project…

Finding a new home for all of the photo albums was interesting…especially since I wanted them in the same area and not spread out all over the house…as well as  needing to be in order by year …Awww..the good old days of film and developing ALL of our photos, and to think I even got doubles to have on hand , just in case !!!  Oy Vey!

HHmmmm, wonder if I  NEED to buy any more table cloths..

The ‘estate’ sale will be happening this summer sometime…come on over, we will be having donuts and coffee awaiting your arrival..

Greg was able to take some time off and come home…

After a day of  working around the house he was able to watch a little bit of football and take his nap…

Morning coffee sitting by the fireplace

Now on to the ‘honey do’ list.. well after checking out the snow

He even organized the garage again…stack of boxes for ‘estate’ sale this summer.

Loaded up the truck with a quad to bring to CA. Along with a bit of snow

Bye honey…see you soon.

Polar Plunge~ January Event

11 Mar

It was a cool 37 degrees that morning….

Yes we are crazy…but it was fun and for a good cause, the Special Olympics… Randy, Rayleen and I made the commitment to do this. So here we are waiting for the announcer to say our names. Rayleen and I are waving, trying to get Greg’s attention…hope he doesn’t miss us.

Here we go….

Burrrrr

Notice the ice in the water? But , I heard that it was a lot colder last year.

We made it…

Here are the goodies we received.

And a nice cozy sweatshirt .
